For PC the Premier Edition was provided as a free update, also replacing the original version. While seeking life on a distant planet, an astronaut discovers an abandoned Russian town. The later PS4/X1 Premier Edition releases have new music, visual upgrades (especially for the terrain), new content through audio and text logs, and Russian audio localization. The astronaut's thoughts can be read in a log through his Holo Tab. Interaction with the environment is for instance provided by the ability to push objects. It also contains some minor puzzles based around platforming and finding ways to progress through the environment. The focus is almost entirely on exploring and a lot of distance needs to be covered on foot. Later on the discovery of a mobile robotic arm introduces a way to handle objects that cannot be touched directly or cannot be handled with his suit. After locating additional jet pack fuel and adjusting to the low-gravity environment, multiple bursts in succession are possible to travel farther. Next to moving around, the astronaut is able to jump and can use a quick burst of his jet pack for a short moment. The game is divided in about 20 areas, each with their own type of scenery set on the surface and underground, with both natural and artificial environments. There is however a linear path to follow. The character can be moved around freely in a large and seemingly boundless environment. He discovers traces left behind by his crew and then finds out the planet may not be uninhabited at all there is life and he quickly discovers an abandoned town of Russian origin. There is no time to waste, as an oxygen leak presses him to move fast.
His crew is gone and they seemed to have moved on before him in the exploration. After travelling for fifteen years, he crashes/lands and discovers it is a barren wasteland instead of the lush scenery that was promised. Description Lifeless Planet is a game where the player controls an astronaut who signed up to a one-way mission to explore an inhabitable planet far away.
